Ingredients:

  • Brown Sugar: Appropriate amount
  • Jiuniang: 3 spoonfuls
  • Egg: 1
  • Goji Berries & Red Dates: A few

Steps:

  1. Add water to a pot and bring to a boil over low heat.
  2. Crack in the egg; you can cook it as a poached egg or stir it into egg drops.
  3. Add brown sugar and stir until melted.
  4. Add jiuniang, red dates, and goji berries. Simmer on low heat for another 30 seconds to 1 minute.
  5. Turn off the heat, serve, and enjoy.

Tips:

  • Do not cook jiuniang for too long, otherwise it easily turns sour and the alcohol flavor fades.
  • If you prefer a thicker consistency, you can add a small amount of starch slurry to thicken.
  • Especially warming for menstrual periods or during autumn and winter.
